Although there is littleevidence of Our Lady ever appearing, this has been a centre of Mariandevotion and pilgrimage since at least the 6th century. It is by far the oldest, and second only to Knock in Co. Mayo, as the most significant Marian shrinein Ireland. At the point where the Atlantic Ocean and the Irish Sea converge, lies thisarea of unparalleled beauty where nature joins with pilgrims in singing its ownsong of devotion to Mother of God.Lady’s Island is known as Lough Togher or the Lake of the Causeway. Thisis a saline lake separated from the sea by a sandbar close to Carnsore Point. Each year this sandbar is cut and the water from the lake that has built upover the winter months is drained into the sea. The lagoon nature of the lakeand its proximity to the sea make it almost unique in Europe and an area ofgreat ecological significance.National Opera House 20 Minute Drive https://www.nationaloperahouse.ie/Kelly's Resort Hotel & Spa https://www.kellys.ie/La Marine Bistrohttps://www.kellys.ie/la-marine-bistro.htmlBeaches Restauranthttps://www.kellys.ie/beaches.htmlCulletons of Kilrane Great for good quality foodKaroo Farm Shop & Cafe www.karoo.ieThe Karoo of South Africa is nestled in an idyllic landscape with rolling hills that lay alongside farmlands in an environment of extreme temperatures….Kinda like Killinick without the extreme heat then!Growing up in Cape Town I would have never have guessed that my travels would lead me to the charming village of Killinick with my own little slice of Africa. Don’t be fooled by the Africanisms though, the idea for Karoo was to create an environment where people could get away from all the frills and hype of “Run of the mill Eateries”. At Karoo what you see is what you get. Big, bold coffees made with a unique blend of coffee beans. Generous portions of tasty sarnies and salads to fill the gap in the afternoon, and homemade treats for after lunch or… just for a treat. As well as the fresh produce in the farmshop, we also have some great gift ideas so you can take a slice of “Karoo” away with you.Whatever reason you may decide to head to Karoo, you’ll be glad you did.Europort Rosslare Europort is a modern seaport located at Rosslare Harbour in County Wexford, Ireland, near the southeastern-most point of Ireland, handling passenger and freight ferries to and from Wales and FranceLobster Pot Seafood and Steak BarKilmore Quay Kilmore Quay is a fishing village near Kilmore, in County Wexford, Ireland. Nestling between the Blackstairs Mountains on one side and Brandon Hill on the other, the locality acquired its name from St. Moling, a 7th century cleric, prince, poet, artist and artisan, who built a monastery here with the help of "Gobban Saor", the legendary Irish builder. In the 8th century manuscript, known as “The Book of Mulling”, there is a plan of the monastery – the earliest known plan of an Irish monastery – which shows four crosses inside and eight crosses outside the circular monastic wall. It is said that St. Moling dug a mile-long watercourse with his own hands to power his mill – a task that took seven years! He became Bishop of Ferns, died in 697 and is buried at St. Mullin’s. - South East Ireland TourismVinegar Hill The Battle of Vinegar Hill, was an engagement during the Irish Rebellion of 1798 on 21 June 1798 when over 13,000 British soldiers launched an attack on Vinegar Hill outside Enniscorthy, County Wexford, the largest camp and headquarters of the Wexford United IrishmenNational 1798 Rebellion Centre National 1798 Rebellion Centre is a heritage centre dedicated to the history of the 1798 Rebellion located in Enniscorthy, County WexfordLoftus Hall Loftus Hall is a large country house on the Hook peninsula, County Wexford, Ireland.
